While much of the conversation around sex and love addiction focuses on compulsive pursuit of relationships and sexual contact, this collection turns to the other side of the disease: anorexia — the pattern of withdrawing from intimacy, connection, and vulnerability as a way of staying safe.

This 60-page compilation gathers 23 personal shares from the Journal, S.L.A.A.'s international literary magazine, written by members working to recognize and recover from sexual and emotional anorexia. Contributors write honestly about isolation mistaken for independence, the fear beneath withdrawal, and the long process of learning to let people in.
